Vacation Rain

Vacation Rain, 30 x 24
NFS

My daughter, Natalie, was four years old when we went on vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina (does it look at all familiar, Trish?). The photograph this was painted from was taken on the ferry from Hatteras to Okracoke, and Natalie was more than a little skeptical that the weather would clear enough for her to swim at the beach.

That is exactly how I feel on days I don't get to paint! This is a different style than your landscape and still life paintings and it seems very appropriate to the subject matter. Great work!

Love Brenda's comment! So true. This is fantastic, Stephen. You have a way with people--do more! The expression on your daughter's face is priceless.

This is a very familiar site to me, Stephen! I have seen that exact expression on my own children's faces! We did love riding those OBX ferries and we miss our summers there. Great figurative work, you should seriously do more!!!
