Green Pastures

Back Entrance, 8 x 10

This painting was also done in Laurel Daniel's plein air class. Green Pastures is a beautiful old restaurant in south Austin. With a Shakeresque exterior set on a sprawling property reminiscent of an antebellum southern plantation, I found this location uniquely beautiful. There was plenty to paint there, but I was struck by the workmanship and design of the eaves off the back porch.

Stephen, I really like the blog, and the paintings are two of my favorites of your recent work. Love the set-up, color, etc. Nice!

Stephen, these are lovely- they are so relaxing to look at- and I just love that you artists notice things like... eaves. David and I should go to Green Pastures for our anniversary dinner! Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

This reminds me of the back porch of a house in Martha's Vineyard that I visited as a kid...the eaves are what always caught my eye. I'll have to visit this restaurant.
