Silent Path

Silent Path, 6 x 6
SOLD
Plein Air Austin had its paintout this morning at a place called Wizard Academy in Driftwood. An unusual name, as is the place itself. It is a marketing academy, but the grounds are very Zen-like, lots of quiet, beautiful surroundings. It seemed more designed for spiritual retreats, complete with an open-air chapel, but apparently that's not the case. In any event, they were very happy to have us out, and that included my dog, Major, which we both appreciated very much.

Gorgeous. I really like the composition and brushwork on this piece.

I like this piece very much! You created an oriental look to the painting by the tree and branches on the right hand side of the painting which lace along the top. Your colors are soothing and great. I also like the staccato movement of the brushstrokes.

A very effective composition. You have framed those faraway cottages so well! And you are a master of greens! You were happy there and it shows!

Such an inviting path! Not sure if I want to go down it or just sit myself down and enjoy the view...

Beautifully done, Stephen. The composition is especially nice here, love the branches framing the composition, along with the depth and space; very well done. Personally, I really like square compositons, but I find it a very difficult format to work within, you make it look easy!
