Sunshine II

Sunshine II, 24 x 24
NFS

If this horse looks familiar, you probably saw "Sunshine," which I'm reposting below, and which was first posted back in August. Both of these were done with pallet knives, from photos I had taken a few years ago. Since the first one had been my only pallet knife painting to date, I decided to do a companion piece.

Now that these are finished, I'll be sticking with brushes for awhile. They were fun, but I'd like to take a class on the genre before doing more.

Very nice and I bet very impressive when seen in person at that large size. I especially like the dappled light on the horse stall and the handling of the cast shadow.

Love Sunshine! Angela commented on the same things I like so much in this painting...the blue shadow on his blaze next to that wonderful red and the dappled shadow on the wall. Great detail to accomplish with a knife! I'm sure they look amazing side by side and I really like the off center, tilted cropping.
