Poolside Prep

Poolside Prep, 8 x 10
SOLD

Even on 100º-plus days, some people need to baste for awhile before plunging into the cool waters of Deep Eddy swimming pool, adjacent to Town Lake (recently re-named Ladybird Lake in honor of the late former first lady and beloved Austinite, Mrs. LBJ).

WOW - I see a series coming on. This is so fresh and so gestural; and has just the right marks to say what you wanted to say. The light beaming down on the sunbathers is superb!

Stephen--this is fantastic. What struck me immediately was the light on the sunbathers--the shoulders....you've done an amazing thing here. Really like this!

Definitely should do a series! You can really feel that heat bearing down on those sunbathers, and the water looks so cool and inviting. Great composition as well. Very nicely done.

Hi Stephen, you handle colour beautifully in all your paintings, and i get the idea that you like painting outdoors but you know your still lifes are real eye catchers too eg the green apples. r.
