South Congress

South Congress, 12 x 12
SOLD

This picture was painted from a reference photo I took while painting in south Austin a couple months ago  (click here to see my November 16 post from last year, "Jo's"). This view looks north from in front of the Continental Club. The state capitol is about a mile and a half farther in this direction, across the Colorado River.

Il y a une grande profondeur dans cette toile, le tout inondée d'une très belle lumière. L'harmonie des couleurs est séduisante.

Love that zig zag path, the blue and pink contrast, and the awesome range of values; very nice.

Beautiful light and colour in this one Stephen. I love the shadow in the foreground, it really sets off the two fellows walking.

You really do a great job capturing sun and shadow. It's so striking.

the glowing color/value in the dark parts of the building sets the stage for the light. WOW!!
if only people knew that artists are surreptitiously snapping away as they are perfectly framed by a dark shape while walking in the light :D
